Eternity is a mere blink away
How many spend time grasping
How many take time to pray

See the big picture around you

It's so hard to make it through
Faith the guiding light of way

Trading Places

 

I awoke today

Peeled the covers away

I washed my face

Ate me some breakfast

 

Started my day

Some work: some play

Did I see the grace

I've been blessed with

 

It was so cold last night

So many tears were cried

Some may even have died

The night was so so frigid

 

How are the children

Were they hungry last night

Did the senior citizen

Want sometime.....anything

 

Will they get through today

Will they eat a warm meal

Will the cold freeze away

The hopelessness they feel

 

I awoke today

Warm and full of grace

Will I awake one day

To trading places

 

 

Our Brother

Another one has locked the door
The numbers not there anymore
In days past they packed them in
But this is now and that was then

Courts and fields looking so lonely
Not like the era of a bygone day
Seems to me like it's uniforms only
Today if you want to play you pay

Something is wrong with this picture
Where are the families and friends
The one thing you can rest assure of
In this bleak scenario nobody wins

We should take a page from the past
Back in the day a hand held another
In the pew; on the field, face to face
Looking eye to eye with our brother

Springtime

Today, is spring-time for the rest of my life

Thank you for the grace of opening my eyes

Praises and glory to my Lord, Jesus Christ

This day, Springtime, has entered in my life

The cold days of winter have finally passed

My heart deeply longing for joy that will last

Surrounding barriers were keeping me at bay

This day, Springtime, has melted them away

Today, is spring-time for the rest of my life

Glory and praises, to my Lord, Jesus Christ

Obstacles that challenged me, day by day

This day, all have vanished, vanished away

Today, is spring-time for the rest of my life

This is the time to renew

The Red, White, and Blue


So many feeling that it is over

Our best is in the past

The Spirit watching above her

Set the die that cast

This one Nation under God

Lord righteousness and truth

One day a graceful lighting rod

Will cleanse the sins of our youth

Then the waves of God's blessings
