Creation of God

In the beginning God created the heavens and earth. God put lights in the sky; it was good, so very good. Grass and fruit yielding seed in the fruit of the trees; it was good, so very good. Lights in the firmament of the heavens, signs for the seasons; for the days and the years; it was good, so very good. Two great lights: the greater for the day and lesser for the night; it was good, so very good. Let the waters abound with many living creatures and let the birds fly across the heavens. God created sea creatures and all that moves in the waters and the birds of the air in abundance of their own kind. Let the earth bring forth cattle, creeping things, and beasts of the earth; it was good, so very good. Then God said, "Let Us make man in our image and likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it. "See, I have given you every herb that yields which is on the face over all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you that shall be for food." Then God saw everything that He made, and indeed and indeed it was very good. Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day God ended His work which he had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all the work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all of His work which God had created and made.
