Upon the Hill

There was a weedy hill without the colors of life

Light could not penetrate through shading limbs

Darkness covered over the space completely

There was potential for beauty there on the hill

The weeds were pulled out from their dirty roots

The large overgrown limbs were pruned away

At once the darkness was overcome by the light 

There was potential for beauty there on the hill

Vibrant perennials gave up their earthly treasures

Seeds were sown into the once thorny lifeless soil

For all things there is a season; a new springtime

Potential for growth and hidden beauty to flourish

The cover in its due season will surely melt away

Penetrating warmth of new light will shine through

Sown treasures will reach to the heavens above

The colors of life will give themselves up anew

Newness will cover over the barren and lifeless

A bussing in the air; dancing from here to there

There is potential for beauty in the lifeless still

Life overcame darkness and death upon the hill

The Tempter

Spinning, twisted human mind

Lust of riches, gold and sweet wine

Satisfy your every desire and need

Have a devil of a time - worship me

I possess full power and authority

Gifts of glory and precious things

Indulge your every desire and need

All will be yours this day - worship me

Silent voice echoing from heaven

Raining truth to rescue and free

Worship the Lord your God alone

My joy and peace will be given thee

The wilderness may wear on you

Hunger, thirst and temptation too

Ask that stone be turned to bread

A hardened heart must be fed

Seek first the Kingdom of the Father

Loosed from powers and principalities

Man lives not by earthly bread alone

Life giving "Flesh" shall lead you home

False messiahs and evil spirits reign

Leading so many to falter and stray

Misguided possessed minds go insane

The holy innocents perish by the way

Turn from evil - return to the "Word"

Place no trust in this passing world

Cast down sinfulness - return to me

"Love" always – the tempter will flee 

Alive in "Love" (OLM)

For so long now, I am with you

I desire you to rejoice in my son

For so long now, I've called you

To seek the joy of his kingdom

I've come to lead you to Jesus

The way to everlasting life

Pray for the grace of wisdom

Knowledge born of sacrifice

Today is the day of salvation

A special moment in time

Rejoice with great jubilation

Witness is love of Jesus Christ

I long to teach you about love

Found in the heart of my son

The fullness of truth and mercy

That all may come to believe

Be rays of compassionate light

That those in darkness will see

True love is found only in Jesus

Only in him is the soul truly free

Children, I tell you, "God" exists

Dad's Loving Spirit Shines

Good morning Dad, Happy Father's Day

It will never be the same as it was before

Seeing you there, in your reclining chair

With the biggest smile from ear to ear

Children, grandchildren, great grandchildren too

The center of attention was always you

Your laughter, humor and witty silly ways

You brought joy to our lives everyday

The chair is still there but without you

Emptiness now fills the large living room

But there is a special warm feeling in the air

You never left us - your loving spirit is there

We still see you laughing, joking and smiling

Pushing all the right buttons at the right time

Teaching with wisdom that was truly divine

Heaven called you there but your spirit is here

A shout out to the heavens to our loving Dad

This is a day to be joyful not for being sad

Dad is home with all the fathers doing just fine

Home with our "Father" - Dad's loving spirit shines

The "True Vine"

From deep down inside I will make my way

Bearing much fruit, the Vine-Dresser is glorified
