We live our lives as lines of poetry

Brief descriptions of what others see
The upside, downside, inside and out
The victories, the failings and doubt

Crossing lines; at times being crossed
Making moves; not weighing the cost

Living as a captive and setting free
Those in bondage and seeking liberty

All the verses and countless rhymes
Pitching pennies, nickels and dimes

The upside, downside, inside and out
This is reality; what life is all about

Praying in the end we will be standing
