Lived a very hard life
Misunderstood was he
But he was dad to me
A strong tough will
Hardened to the core
Those invisible scars
The Second World War
He raised his family
As best as man can do
But there were critics
Critics without a clue
A quiet reserved man
With a heart of gold
His daughter's hand
Till this day I still hold
He was a good man
He was dad to me
Tonight he left home
Entered into eternity
