Source of Lasting Truth

How do I put aside my anger and forgive

Keep from condemning and judging too
How can I plead for your loving mercy
When I show no mercy; turn from truth

Though, I count my gifts and blessings

I lack the charity of the child you knew
How can I reopen the chest of treasure
Buried long ago when I turned from you

Mercy from generation to generation

Seat of wisdom and the light of truth
With a humble heart, and anticipation
I place my faith, hope and trust in you

Only you can heal me from hidden anger

Help me to look within and seek out truth
Guide me to rediscover the lost treasure
A measure of goodness only found in you

This is the time for mercy and forgiveness

Return to the loving nature of my youth
Put aside all judgmental condemnation
Pursue Love, the source of lasting truth

 

A Taste of Salvation

 

Up on the mountain with Jesus to pray

Peter, James and John along the way
A glorified face; clothes dazzling white
Up on the mountain in heaven's light

Awakened from sleep struck with awe

Amazed by the vision that they saw
Moses and Elijah with Jesus in sight
Up on the mountain in heaven's light

Their witness overshadowed by a cloud

Then a voice came out speaking aloud
This is my Son, my Chosen; listen to him
Up on the mountain; the Father's might

The cloud passed and Jesus stood alone

Standing in silence the vision was gone
Speaking to no one of the transfiguration
Up on the mountain a taste of salvation

Lead Me, Lord

I was on a one way road

Going in the wrong direction
Moving fast; out of control
Caught the fast lane infection

I was out of my comfort zone

The end; face to face with me
I realized the way I was going
A needed a miracle to be freed

I called out to you to save me

I realized I've never been alone
The dead end that I was facing
In a blink of an eye - was gone

You took control of my senses

Led me from where I strayed
Not really sure but my guess is
You heard every word I prayed

Now I am out of the fast lane

Where the pace of life is slow
No longer play life as a game
Where you lead me, Lord, I go

 

Bag of Deception

Led by the Spirit; strengthened by the Spirit of Love

Lurking, evil patiently waits; tempting us to slip up

When we are hungry, we seek out Spirit filled bread

The devil offers us up a plate of emptiness instead

One day will be together in the mansions of heaven

If we resist in this place, the false promises given

We are to worship our God, and must serve Him only

Fight the good fight; resist the evil liar and phony

 

The truth will be found if we keep pushing onward

Turn away from the delights of the hidden coward

The Spirit will send to us faith filled love infusions

Only darkness will be found inside faceless illusions

Led by the Spirit; strengthened by the Spirit of Love

Take a leap towards the blessings given from above

The Lord will send his angels to you for protection

Evil will flee from your midst with his bag of deception

 

Life And Time

Lord, this is a time to begin; a time to let you in

Time to answer your call; time to call upon you
For every time there is a season; a new beginning
Time for: praying, listening, hoping, and believing

Seek out the kingdom; embrace the power of love

Let go of every vice and burden weighing us down
Allow the Spirit of Truth to work miracles in our lives
Time to flee the darkness; be enveloped by the light

Lord, this is a time to win; a time to conquer sin

Time to cast doubt away; time to live lives of faith

This is a time of grace; time to sing songs of praise

Time to understand; "Life" is in the palm of your hand   

Souled

I was in the lane at the office store

A young man walked up next to me
Did you find what you're looking for
Then proceeded to take care of me

Walking back at the end of the lane

He started speaking with his friend
What I heard him saying souled me
The goods I needed when I came in

He spoke the good news with conviction

Unafraid of anyone that was listening in
I was souled on the his love for scripture
He was bold; I was souled - hearing him

I went up to him saying, it's refreshing
Listening to you speak the way you do
No fear of a negative soul listening in
I wanted to say to you, God bless you

Saying, that he is not ashamed at all

No apologies for his Spirit filled faith

This is a young man just standing tall
He souled good news to me that day

He spoke the good news with conviction

Unafraid of anyone that was listening in
I was souled on the his love for scripture
He was bold; I was souled - hearing him
A young man, the good news - God bless you!

 

Living Stones

 

We will never be alone, we are living stones

We are made as one, yet, we are all unique

Weathered down, above and below ground

Masterfully created; rubble of the Kingdom

Though, on the surface, we are tarnished

Though, scarred and chipped away by sin

Living stones, exposed, beaten and broken

Unveil the hidden treasure entombed within 

There, all the secrets of time are revealed

The tarnish is lifted; the uniqueness shines

Light of the Son, grace, reflected on themLiving stones, mosaic of life; crafted Divine

Living stones; a fortress of the Holy Church

Created by Wisdom, for this moment in time

Bonded together by faith; protection of life

The Father's own - we are "Living Stones"

I Am Your Peace

 

There is a land flowing with milk and honey; a place prepared for you

My covenant established with your fathers; words of honor and truth

Cursed are they that do not hear my voice: scores of broken children
Wisdom and truth will direct your steps; I am "Love" - I am your "God"

The shepherds have become brutish; have not prospered; gone astray
Their flocks are scattered; the covenant broken; many lost their way
The wounds are grievous; cause much grief; the pain is hard to bear
I shall light the way for the faithful shepherds; wipe away your tears

There is a land flowing with milk and honey; a place prepared for you
Soon, I will lead you from distress; then, you will graze the land anew
The scattered shall find their way back home; healing within families
I am "Love" - I am "God" - I am the good "Shepherd" - I am your "Peace"
