"Love"

There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for everything under the heavens. A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to uproot the plant. A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to tear down and a time to build. A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to morn, and a time to dance. A time to scatter stones, and a time to gather them. A time to embrace, and a time to be far from embraces. A time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away. A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to be silent, and a time to speak. A time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace. What advantage has the worker from his toil? I have considered the task that God has appointed that the sons of men to be busied about. He has made everything appropriate for its time and has put the timeless into their hearts, without man's ever discovering, from the beginning to end, the work which God has done. 

Consideration: There is an appointed time for everything as described in reading from Ecclesiastes. With all the difficulties that daily life may send our way, this is a great time to reflect on what time it is in our own personal lives. We as individuals cannot control the big picture of worldly circumstances, but we can control the life we have been blessed with in most cases. Today, the Lord is speaking to us through this reading. Together, let us pray for one another, let us pray for peace; our families, friends, and those who are sick and have needs; the leaders of nations; and our spiritual leaders. Most of all, let us pray to our God for the blessing of "Love." Only with "Love," can we as people of God carry out the mission that He has prepared for all of His children. Amen.
